Description

Rediscover St. Louis through a remarkable piece of illustrated city history with the St. Louis Vintage Map 1000 Piece Puzzle. Based on Tom Dodds' colorful 1978 pictorial map of St. Louis, this richly detailed bird's-eye view captures the personality of the city through its landmarks, buildings, businesses, people, recreational activities and countless tiny illustrated details. At the heart of the scene is one of America's most recognizable landmarks, the Gateway Arch, surrounded by the streets, neighborhoods and attractions that defined St. Louis at the time. Look closely and you'll discover Busch Memorial Stadium, historic buildings, figures, signs, descriptive notes and playful scenes scattered throughout the artwork. The extraordinary density of the original illustration makes it especially well suited to a 1,000-piece puzzle. Buildings, streets, typography, figures, greenery and landmarks create constantly changing visual clues, while the many small details reward close inspection as the city gradually comes together. Made from premium 2 mm puzzle board with our velvety soft-touch, glare-reducing finish, the completed puzzle measures 50 × 70 cm (approximately 19.7 × 27.6 inches). A full-size 50 × 70 cm reference poster is included. It's a nostalgic journey through St. Louis and a distinctive gift for Missouri residents, former St. Louisans, travelers, history enthusiasts, map collectors and anyone who has a special connection to the Gateway City.
